WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

A full refund will be given if request is received by June 1, 2008. After June 1, 2008, a refund will ONLY be given, less a $20 fee, if a camper’s severe illness or injury prevents his/her attendance. Request must be received by the first day of camp. No refunds will be given under any other circumstances.

WHAT IS THE NEW CHANGE FOR KINDERGARTENERS?

Beginning this year, children who have completed kindergarten in the 07-08 school year will be eligible for the Half Day Camp program only. By implementing this change we will be keeping this age group all together in camp. This frees up the wait list in the Full Day camp and as many of the counselors noted last year, not exhausting our 5 and 6 year olds by Wednesday.

Half Day Camp runs from 9am – 12:30pm. Afternoon care will be available for those parents who volunteer all day at camp.

WHERE SHOULD I PICK UP MY CHILD?

In order to accommodate such large numbers of children safely, we must exercise security measures. We are asking for your cooperation and know it is for the safety of your children.

Parents or guardians will need to pick up their children (in person) in the designated spot for their group in the front parking lot – 12:30 pm for Half Day Camp and 4:00 pm for Full Day Camp. Please do not pick up your child from inside the church building. Children will be released only from the parking lot.

WHAT ARE THE SECURITY WRISTBANDS?

Enclosed with your Summer Hummer camper handbook, you will find a numbered security wristband and two matching laminated security cards for each child. If you have more than one child attending camp, we suggest that you use a permanent marker to write each child’s name on his or her corresponding numbered cards.

Each child will be required to wear the enclosed wristband for the duration of camp. This is your child’s “ticket” into camp. If your child does not have a wristband when they show up for camp each day, they will not be permitted to stay unless a new wristband is purchased.

In the event that the child looses the wristband or the parent/guardian looses the security matching card, it will be necessary for you to purchase a new wristband with security matching cards for $5. These can be purchased in the Summer Hummer office just inside the main doors of the church.

In order to pick up your child from camp each day, you will be required to show your child’s counselor the laminated security card with the number on it that matches the number on your child’s wristband. Children will only be released if the security card and wristband numbers match

WHAT IF I MUST PICK UP MY CHILD EARLY FROM CAMP?

If you need to pickup your child early from camp, let your counselor know ahead of time. When you arrive on campus, you must check in at the Summer Hummer Headquarters (just inside main doors) to receive a visitors pass and escort for your child. Unfortunately, there is no way to deliver phone messages.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK MY CHILD UP FROM CAMP?

If anyone other than the person dropping the child off is picking them up, the parent/guardian should let the counselor know ahead of time. That person will be required to show your child’s counselor the laminated security card with the number on it that matches the number on your child’s wristband. Children will only be released if the security card and wristband numbers match.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO CAMP EACH DAY?

  • Full Day campers and counselors need to bring a sack lunch each day.
  • Campers are encouraged to bring a backpack to carry their belongings with them each day.
  • We are encouraging all the Summer Hummer campers to bring loose change each day for our missions fund-raising project.
  • Campers need to bring a bathing suit and towel each day of camp for our afternoon water activities. Please note that no bare midriffs are allowed. Children do not have to participate in the water games, but should be prepared to get wet. Half Day campers will also have a water day in the morning.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MONDAY MORNING?

Camp starts Monday morning, July 7th at 9:00 am. We will not begin registering children until 8:30 am. We expect close to 900 people the first day. Each year we strive to make the sign-in process quick and easy, however, it is very likely things may not go as smoothly as you expect. Your patience and smile will be greatly appreciated!

DO YOU HAVE A DRESS CODE?
