Missions

Could you imagine your children hiking and climbing around on Mt Rainier in the winter months without proper coats, gloves or hats? Many of the Tibetan children do exactly that during the coldest months of the year in elevations that rival one of the Pacific Northwest’s greatest peaks!

This year's Mission Project will be to help raise money for adequate clothing for Children in Tibet.

Most Tibetans are Nomadic farmers who raise yaks and sheep in a very cold climate. With an average elevation of 14,000 feet, Tibet is the highest country on earth.

Each day we will be encouraging your children to collect their dollars and cents and learn the joy of partnering with the Westwood Outreach Workers to bring these children warm clothes.

One of the great aspects of the Summer Hummer Missions project is that your
children will be learning about Tibet and the people during the week of camp.

Friday at the Family Night we’ll announce the total amount collected for these
children and the camper group that averaged the most money per day!
