Summer Hummer begins right at 9am. Be sure to come early so your kids wont' miss a minute of the fun. Make sure they have their wrist band on and the person picking them up has the Yellow security tag.
Missions Project: Giving to others is always an emphasis at Summer Hummer. Your child's daily offering will be helping children in SW China. The money will go toward building a playground and improve the sleeping facilities at a school. Currently the children only have rocks to play with and sleep on one mattress in an 8x8 room. We can make a different in the life of a child!
Coins-Coins-Coins - Each day the coins your children bring are weighed during our assembly time. The kids love this competition between groups to see who can bring in the heaviest amount. Last year SH raised $10,000! Snow cones are available for $1 and parents can stop by our Coffee Cart - this money will go to the children in SW China also.
Make plans to attend our Family Fun Night on Friday, 4:30 - 8:30pm. We will have food available to purchase. Come let your kids show you the zip line or jump on Monkey Motion and hear them sing all the songs they have learned during the week.
AWANA Program: Wednesday Nights @ 6:30pm (3yrs old to 6th Grade)
Sunday Nights @ 5pm
(Jr and Sr High.)

Tell About It
Here are some questions to ask your child to review the Bible story and verse:
• What are the four types of soil Jesus talked about?
• What kinds of people did the different kinds of soil represent?
• What are some things kids can do to be like the good soil?
• What are some ways you can think of to show that you believe God’s Word?
• Why is obeying God’s Word an important part of believing God’s Word?
Live It!
As a family, choose one or more of these activities to live out what your child is learning at SonQuest Rainforest.
• Sweet potatoes grow in the rainforest. You can grow one at home! As a family, plant a sweet potato and watch it grow. Let the plant remind you to read and obey God’s Word, so you can be good soil and grow good fruit.
Here’s how: Push at least four toothpicks halfway into a sweet potato. Place the sweet potato in a glass with the toothpicks resting on the top rim. Pour water into the glass, making sure the end of the potato is in the water. Place the glass on a windowsill or any place it will get lots of light. Be sure to keep the water level constant in the glass. You’ll see roots growing in two to three weeks. Remove the potato from the glass and plant it in soil when its roots get several inches long.
• As a family, work to collect money in one of the following ways. You can donate the money to support your VBS missions project. Sort through toys, household items and outgrown clothes. Have a garage sale. Make a spare change jar. Everyone empties their pockets daily. At the end of the week, sort the coins and exchange them for bills at the bank.
• Call a friend or family member who lives far away, just to say that he or she is appreciated, loved and prayed for by your family.
